Fly Fishing Personalities For Success

You never get there on your own. Those who have achieved any level of notoriety in business or life know this and appreciate it's truth. We attribute our gains in the industry to sound business practice and a solid support network. The "secret fly" is no more effective than the layered support around it. Some personalities that are key players in our network of success include my informally adopted son Dan Anthon, now guiding on the Deschutes River and our friend Michael Caranci, casting instructor and guide coordinator at the Redding Fly Shop. Many fly fishermen have a snooty "holier than thou" persona and these two demonstrate the epitome of service to the incoming fishermen. Our Fly Fishing Boats

Most of the aluminum drift boats I have investigated seem to have been built with fly fishing as an afterthought. The people at Hyde boats have produced the most durable and fly fishing friendly aluminum drift boat that I have found. I quickly wore out my first "brand X" drift boat here on the rocky Klamath by cavitating the floor into the support rails while fishing for several years out of a boat designed for back-trolling plugs. We are proud to fish from Hyde fly fishing drift boats, with their clean interiors and durable infrastructure. The Jet boat business is for us a game of dependability and durability. We don't fish much from the boat itself, but our Custom Rogue aluminum Jet Boat get's us there and back from the remote lower Klamath River without complaint. I don't recommend any other jet boat more than a Rogue Jet.

Poorly matched systems, and rods / reels that frustrate you will distract from what should be a karmic day fly fishing day. We have for years fished with quality Sage rods fit to the best fly fishing reels and fly lines we can resource. For us this means Abel reels, and Rio products. We find that the initial investment into quality gear pays off often on the first day of use.

Klamath, Trinity and Salmon river flows are easily monitored from one spot from the Klamath River Report. This site will help you stay abreast of current river and weather conditions for the mid Klamath as well as road and trail conditions.
